AL and BL

No this article isn't about technology and how it took the human brains swiftly. I would  rather like to call it BL and AL ,i.e. Before Lock down and After Lock down . Lot of people were talking about the lock down been a boon for them and for some it was a curse. There were a section who believed in their own happiness and strategies. Some students were enjoying their long vacations while some students were totally getting mad over the locked up period. Some found solace in reading books and some found happiness in drawings and other creative skills.
The whole pandemic situation can be differentiated in two points boon and curse. The boons can be many if not few and on the other hand the curses can be countable though the stress associated can be uncountable. {Am I being language bound?}
Point 1 --. The pandemic lock down showed a bizarre unity yet it was surreal. At one order from the highest honour made us stand together. The  after effect was it was soon forgotten, as if it never happened.

Point 2 --. The members of one family started to believe in the old concept of "the family that eats together stays together,smiles and plays indoor games together" . The curse or the side-effect of this it did not last wrong.{exceptions are always there, trust me they are my favourite}

Point 3 --. The city appeared clean and green. The hollering, honking and the chaotic life was all at a stand still. The bad side was there were heavy losses for the daily-wage earners. 👷💂💁

Point 4 --. The city saw birds which had chose to stay out of the city lights. The egregious of this was the vexatious of feeding them. The early mornings were melodious  and delightful once again.

Point 5 --.  The regular  weekends were no more fun place for some but quite peaceful for the others.                           {Let's not get into details  😋}

Point 6 --. The other striking word that comes in both the situation whether pros or con  is Freedom . Due to the lockdown out most favourite aspect "freedom" was lost or rather captivated. Though this is completely my perspective.

Well, the list can go on and on . Do let me know your views.
Till then just to soften up a little.... My new rendition:

Shoal of fish, in a box of glass
Some in gold, some in silver
Some are black ,some are bright as white
They love to dig the colourful stones
They're all strong and iridescently  bright
The digging makes the aqua dirty
Cleaning ,sometimes, makes feel me yucky
Are you too, O' fish , down and locked
As we humans seem to be blocked
In just a trivial stay at home
Nothing changed the way we roam
We love the outside when home
We love the four walls when at Rome
Confused as we may seem ,we truly are.
O school of fish,  do not fight for  existence
Water is for all as we all are for water
Let us stay together
some on earth some on water

Heart To Heart

Have you ever wondered what voices we hear are the voices we recognize – we do not understand any new voice.  It takes time, we generally accept or understand the language- accent of the one we know. We tend to acknowledge sounds known, but we don't try to get anything new.

In this known and unknown fact, the human mind tends to forget trivial issues that can make one happy. It is an hour of feeling which makes, bends, or shapes ones mind to the bitter world. The heart is the innocent one who loves to believe anything that smiles upon it. The little niche of knowing the virtues in the first attempt offers bliss and peace.

The moments that give you happiness are very short, again the moments that give you bitter experiences stay long like aromatic incense sticks, sometimes we ignore, seldom do we accept our own voice within. How much time to understand someone else’s perspective … how many times do we realise that every coin has two sides?

Many sages have quoted “ all that happens, happens for good” But does it really?

Love-an hour of feeling,
Peace a want of lifetime
If could it be possible dwelling
Dwell together if they could
It surely would be the happier chime
We could call it the eternal bliss
Love and peace here it is
Seldom though found together
arising wants for it more and more
Will it be nice to buy or borrow
Or could it be nice just to be in sorrow
But Alas! Heart -o- heart
Life is yet unknown, so in the spurt
Don't forget your past.
Let thy heart be the dwell of Love and peace

Appreciation- boons or bonanza??

If one pauses a while on the issue of "appreciation" to ask oneself what is it?  Well, answers are many from varied perspectives.
Why would one write poetry? What is the minimum difference between the Poem or Poetry?
One speaks about the activity of a poet's mind and the other merely gives pleasure. One gives aesthetic delight another speaks the poet's heart.
So, basically, sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop trying to figure out precisely how we feel.
And sometimes we love to live in the shadow of someone, to rise above their well-meaning expectations.
Appreciating a poem also involves providing reasons for liking a poem or for that matter not liking it.
A small drift from Mriga, excavating some more hidden truths

When the earth cries out loud the sky holds the cloud
the love is s
hy and speaks no words

but rains through and through

the birds chirp their hearts
knowing not what they want
I stand beside them wondering

in the light of thought, singing
hymn and sympathy for the world
caught so in wrath

Alas! Oh, Earth,
Shower your desires,
let mankind unfold
secrets of the unknown and
the truth.

Taste buds- II

Good self-esteem is important because it helps you to hold your head high and feel proud of yourself and what you can do.

My previous post spoke about learning a new language. This feature of self-esteem was a trait Mriga surely possessed, she knew and had the knack of learning many languages. Mriga initially claimed to know 6 or more languages. Like I was saying, self- esteem builds confidence and it gives you the courage to try new things. Also, the power to believe in yourself.

Of course, Mriga successfully learned the language or rather, to be precise, learned good enough to manage a friend or two.  They would laugh their heart out to understand what actually Mriga meant.  Osam and Munu both became close to her and they too started interacting in English. They would meet every evening at their known, not so strange tea stall near their coaching center. Mriga made sure she would keep them entertained by her funny learning accent throughout her speech.

Mriga loved to fascinate and make her own stories about her house. She would sometimes behave like the character of Pippi Longstocking who loved to build up stories on her own.

Mriga was not the same but not that different either. Amongst her favourite tale was about her food. She would have simple dal, bhaat, and chips and claim to have mangsho pulav- or so-called a feast. Sometimes she would also imagine being a poetess of high intellect. Many a times it would be sensible with good philosophical values, though that was rare.

One such evening, Mriga on her usual walk started a conversation, she found it difficult to say the correct word for an insect in particular. So she starts explaining this way, “they have a long long thread-like things above their head and they are very chee chee, they do not know where they are walking, they tend to run fast.”

Mriga finally gives up and speaks in English that there are 4600 species out of which 30 are related to human habitat.

Guess what? Do leave your answers in the comment box.

Till then, বিদায় (biḍai).

Maddy's crawling now...

Well ... Its really difficult to start walking when
you are still a baby.. Friends, relatives ,friends of friends ,relatives of relatives, everyone makes a blog successful. This though reminds me of a story. Let me share an old grandma story..
A girl named Mriga had just shifted from a metro city to a small ,very very small rural place called Kumey.  She found herself off track at the beginning as no one or nobody wanted to be her friend.
Oh! the reasons were plenty; the dress for that matter was absolutely a varied one and then.
Did I forget to mention the language.  Learning a new language when nothing works but dumb charades. It's all blah blah brrr... and then finally hrrrrr.. and hoooosssshhhh!!
After all kinds of vocal sounds that her family had experimented they learnt a few words like  hello and what is your name?  But, Mriga was a smart girl. She opted not to learn the common words but learnt to say " I do not know your language" in the local way.
One fine evening when she was on her stroll to the park , an old man crossed her and with inquisitive eyes smiled and uttered a few words. The only thing Mriga was busy wondering was " Wow, the old man seems to like the way I dress ". She, in all her amazement replied : Thank You .
But the old man didn't seem to like it much. Hence she finally spoke the magical words in the local language that she didn't know the language.
Suddenly there was a change in the expression, his eyes turned red and vocal chords seem to be bursting out . Mriga totally confused ran to her teacher asking for help , as she was totally puzzled at the old man's reaction.
Sir explained that knowing a language or not knowing a language is question one needs to know a lot later, specially when you have an answer without knowing the meaning of it.
Well , moral of the story, speak what you know , or better play dumbcharade!!
Will she chose to move on and learn the language ?
We might find out in my next blog!!!
Till I crawl.... I need the wall to support...

Maddy's First words....

Greetings!!

Today's world of technology has brought about wider and complex situations for a teacher and more so for a student.
A student has to concur with the teacher and the technology and the teacher to concur with the student -parent- school administration - and technology. Difficult!!!

Hi friends, This is Bhalogal posting for the first time . Do leave your suggestions and feedback at bhalogal@yahoo.com
